HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Intermittent stinging sensation may be due to neuropathy.

This refers to abnormal nerve function which can cause abnormal sensations such as stinging, tingling, burning, numbness etc.
Any one of these can occur.

Causes of neuropathy include: (a)vitamin b12 or folic acid deficiency
(b)diabetes
(c)Trauma
(d) liver or kidney disease
(e)infection such as shingles
(f) some hormonal or autoimmune disease
(g)nerve diseases such as stroke or ms

You can try using an anti inflammatory pain killer such as ibuprofen, naproxen or cataflam to see if it helps.
If there is no improvement then you would need to see your doctor for assessment which would include physical examination and possibly blood tests.

I hope this helps
