What Causes Intermittent Stomach Pain In A 12 Year Old?

My daughter has been feeling sick and has really bad stomach pains, she has a phobia of being sick so will not allow herself to do so. She was diagnosed with coeliac when she was 7. Years old she is now 12 so we have fully adjusted our selves to the diet. This started on and off for over a week. We will be going to the doctors on Monday but I have no idea what it is or how I can help her.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms of your daughter seem to be related to stomach flu. I recommend giving her Acetaminophen three times a day to reduce the stomach pain.

You can also give daily probiotics. Give her liquids and a plain diet which does not trigger the symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
