What Causes Intermittent Swelling Of Knee With Discoloring And Tenderness?

Hello. I'm 33 years old. My left knee gets swollen a little but is off and on. About 6 months now. Sometimes it's reddish purple sometimes light green. On the knee cap. Sometimes tender but not always. I can't kneel down on it. But walking is okay and bending it.
