What Causes Intermittent Tingling Sensation On Upper Left Thigh?

I have sporadic tingling and goose bump like occurances in my upper left thigh. I can feel my leg tingle before the bumps appear. They last about 30 seconds then go away. This happens for about a week, all day every day, then goes away for some time, usually 2-4 weeks, but then I experience it again. It is always my left leg and always the same spots.

Dr. Hanif warmly welcomes you!

Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic HCM. I have carefully worked through your case, and can well realize your health worries. Being your physician, I want to assure, I will take care all of your medical concerns.

It is due to the Paresthesia caused by nerve stimulation and irritation. It leads to some abnormal sensations even due to any other type of stimulation. e.g touch, cold or hot stimulus on a specific nerve dermatomal area produces deranged sensation like you feel tingling. This may also be caused without any stimulus. Hypersensitivity of such area may be caused by peripheral nerve disease as in diabetics it is very common to feel paresthesias.

Other reasons may be the blood supply issues to the area. It may be due to partial blockage of the blood vessels supplying the skin and the nerves of that region.
Vitamin and micronutrients deficiency may also lead to such issues.

Lab work needed:-
CBC with ESR and Differentials
Vit B12 and Vit D levels.
Serum electrolytes.
serum proteins.
Fasting blood sugar levels.

When you get the lab reports, upload in a follow up or consult your local physician for expert opinion from me or your physician locally.

Start taking Surbex Z and keep taking a healthy diet full of vegetables, fish, salads, fruits and plenty of water. Nuts and dry fruits are good for you. Keep your blood pressure in control. Your physician locally, will help you for that.
