Hello. I take Loestrin 30 and am experiencing spotting (pale red/almost pinky watery bleeding) between periods while I am still taking the pills. I also am experiencing a white discharge that doesn't smell foul however doesn't smell nice. Is this normal? Thank you

Thanks for contacting with your health concern

1. breakthrough bleeding/spotting or missed/irregular periods [disturbance of menstrual cycle] is one of the topmost documented side effects of the drug during the first few months of use, although it's a typical side effect so nothing to be worried but pregnancy on loestrin [ethinyl estradiol] is likely if you miss pills so contact your gynecologist for a pregnancy test and discuss your concerns with her.

2. If you plan to take it for longer use, please keep certain ADR [adverse drug reaction] of the drug in mind, [for exhaustive list kindly consult your doctor]:

- thromboembolism, weight gain/loss, vaginal candidiasis, mental depression, hirsutism, edema, endometrial cancer.
