What Causes Intermittent Vaginal Bleeding While On Birth Control Pills?

Hi! So a week ago I went to the bathroom and I noticed a tiny bit of spotting. I got nervous because I thought it could be implantation bleeding. Two days later, I had brown discharge, and the next day, I got my period. I m not on birth control and I m not pregnant. Is this normal? Should I go see my doctor?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

You do not likely need to be assessed by your doctor. It is not unusual for the period to start with a small amount of blood initially as in your case.
The brown discharge is likely old blood which would be present due to decreased initial flow.

You should be ok but if you remain concerned then you should be assessed.

I hope this helps
