What Causes Intermittent Vertigo?

I have had a problem off and on with vertigo,however, for the last few weeks no problem to be addressed!! This morning i flushed my ear due to wax build up, when I stood up after the flushing, my eyes spun, I could not focus,dizziness for a period of time and now nausea, as I have had both with vertigo previously! My question is, did the flushing bring on the vertigo? Thank you!

Yes, it is very likely that the flushing/ear syringing caused the vertigo. The ears play an important role in balance and vertigo/dizziness is a known possible side effect of this procedure.

It is usually temporary and should decrease within a few minutes to an hour in most cases.

It would be best to lay down and rest till the symptoms improve.

If you have repeated episodes of vertigo , not related to ear syringing then you may need to see your doctor for assessment.
There are other ear related causes such as meniere's disease, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, vestibular neuronitis.
