What Causes Intestinal Discomfort Due To Diverticulosis?

I am experiencing intestinal discomfort that feels like a divert attack which I have had before. Had colonoscopy 10 days ago and was told I have diverticulosis. I have a bottle of Cipro that is dated 2013. Am I safe in taking it until I can see the doctor or should I go to emergency care. Will they be able to issue this med.

Hi,

Minor attacks of diverticulitis will settle with antibiotics.

You can safely continue Ciprofloxacin. Ciprofloxacin-Tinidazole combination will be a better option.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
