What Causes Involuntary Eye Movements After Having Gabapentin?

I took Gavapentin (Neurotin) 300mg, one a day for one year. I developed Involuntary eye movements, blurred and double vision, those, according to the side effects on Webmed, are three of the severe side effects of this drug. I stopped taking it three months ago. Is these in facts are problems related to this medicine, will they go away? or are these side effects permanent? Please let me know. Thanks for your help.

Hello,

Welcome to HCM and thanks for the query.
Gabapentin is an antiepileptic and dizziness, unsteadiness of gait are usual side effects of antiepileptics which are often dose dependent and subside when the dose is decreased or stopped.
You were on a small dose of Gabapentin and the symptoms persist even 3 months after stopping Gabapentin. Therefore it is unlikely to be related to gabapentin.
If I were you, I would see a Neurologist and seek his/her opinion.
