Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. Sudden involuntary leg movements associated with jerky movements or twitching could occur due to some underlying seizure discharge more specifically due to myoclonic jerks. If these are occurring in sleep then possible cause is nocturnal myoclonus or Restless leg syndrome. As the problem is very distressing to individual self and also to partner so need proper evaluation. Medicines like sodium valproate, carbamazepine etc can help to reduce such episodes. Low dose benzodiazepines like clonazepam can help in sound sleep and also reduce such episodes. Please visit a doctor for proper evaluation and prescription of these medicines.

Thanks, Hope this helps you. Take care
