Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Usually this occur when there is bad gastritis / peptic ulcer. But given his age and recent weight loss, we need to rule out more important conditions causing obstruction to esophagus (like neoplasms). So kindly take him to doctor and get evaluated. If it is gastritis, a short course of antacids will help. Meanwhile, give him small frequent semisolid items to improve retention.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
