What Causes Irregular Brown Vaginal Spotting After Having Safe Sex?
Hello, I m quite worried I m about 2 to 3 weeks late for my period. Last month l started my period regularly on the 15th of August but it didn t really go away until around until the 3rd of September. In between those two dates after the bleeding has lessened, l had brown stuff coming out of me, l had to put a piece of toilet paper to keep it off my panties. I did have protected sex on the third of September and the 10th of September.. It s October 1st now and still no sign of my period. I ve never been on the pill or anything, I ve always been regular. I need help please.. Thank you for your time and consideration.
A pregnancy test can rule out pregnancy. These tests can detect pregnancy by day 11 to 14 after possible conception.
If the test is conclusively negative then other causes of period delay would need to be considered. Other causes are: (1) emotional stress or illness (2)high prolactin hormone levels (3)physical illness (4)abnormal levels of thyroid hormone (5)inadequate diet (6)polycystic ovarian syndrome
If the test is negative then your doctor can determine if related to one of these other causes.
This can be done by history , blood tests and possibly imaging.
I hope this helps
