Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have heart flutters and anxiety but last night i noticed that my hear did a bit of an irregular beat -sort of two beats then a normal beat. this lasted for a few seconds. i didnt have any other syms and wouldnt have noticed it if ihadnt been checking my pulse. what could this be?
Regarding your concern, your symptoms seem to be related to an extrasystole, which is an ectopic heart beat.
I would like to explain that every healthy person can experience ectopic heart beats, which are more frequent during anxiety and physical activity.
If this problem persists and is associated with other symptoms like: fainting feeling or lightheadedness, or chest discomfort, I recommend consulting with your attending physician for a careful physical examination and perform an ambulatory 24 hours ECG monitoring to exclude a possible cardiac arrhythmia.
Hope to have been of help!
Greetings! Dr. Iliri
