What Causes Irregular Heart Pounding?
my husband has been complaining of an irregular heart pounding which occurs randomly. it even goes so far at times to pound so hard he feels it in his throat, temples, and anus.
What do you think it could be? It does not occur during stressful times, it just randomly happens and then goes away.

This kind of palpitations may be due to extrasystoles producing irregular heart beats making the patient aware of it.If it does not arise with stress it should be investigated properly.
I would suggest you to get an ECG done duirng the spell of pounding,If it is normal you may need to undergo Holter monitoring to analyse the heart beats for 24 hours,
