General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the metoprolol tartrate is a beta blocker used in variety of heart conditions. The feeling of LUB DUB and irregular heart rate are in concerned with chronic use of beta blocker medication. However, an EKG is recommended for the initial work up to confim the extent of pulse irregularity or drop beats.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
