What Causes Irregular Menstrual Bleeding

so I haven't had my period yet but like 5 months ago when I wiped it was lightly colored dark red. so I thought ok I should be starting soon, but it never came back. today I wiped and I found it again! but this time it was a red but mostly brown colored. so I was wondering what this is and if its not just me starting a period how do I get rid of it?

Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Get urine or serum Beta-HCG test done to rule out pregnancy.
If test comes negative consult your gynaecologist for further intervention & get investigations done like thyroid profile, blood sugar & serum prolactin to rule out hormonal imbalance.
Get ultrasound done to rule out pelvic pathology.
