What Causes Irregular Menstrual Cycles?

Hello Sir I am 24 Years old. I had my last period on 27th feb after that i haven t got any. I am unmarried. Usually my periods are delayed by 5-7 days normally always. But this time it is almost 20 days late. Please suggest me what could be thee reason. Is it serious?? am I having any problem?

Thank you fo rthe query. I understand your concern.
If so much delayed periods are only thistime it could be-
- Illness / physical or psychological stress/severe weakness( anemia)
- Hormonal imbalance due to thyroid or ovarian problem, PCOD.
-Unprotecte sex causing pregnancy.
* You should get your home pregnancy test done if you had history of unprotected sex. + ve test indicates pregnancy& - ve test indicates other causes ( as narrated above )
- You should wait for the period for a - ve test / see a gynecologist for needful investigations she advises after examining you .. followed by specific treatment.
-In case of + ve test you again need angynecologist consultation .
