What Causes Irregular Menstrual Discharge?

i normally come on my period on the 3rd of the month. i took a pregnancy test 1 week ago and it came back negative. today i wiped and a pinkish discharge was on the toilet paper and im cramping. I keep urinating but there is nomore discharge coming out. what could this mean?
