What Causes Irregular Menstruation Along With Vaginal Bleeding After Intercourse?

I ve had my pap smear and had a digital pelvic exam because I was getting my period very two weeks. Also, got the deposit shot. Although I haven t got my period but I ve been bleeding every time after sexually intercourse. In addition; I had a std n took meds. What could be wrong with me?

Thanks for the query.
I understand your concern.
Depo provera is a long acting hormonal injectible contraceptive. & it helps controlling frequent/ excessive bleeding in menses. You had been benefited with it for your menstrual problem.Bleeding after sex can be due to-
- Side effect of depo injection ( intermittent spotting is characteristic to the medicine )
- Pelvic/ vaginal infection.. to be excluded with Deep vaginal swab culture & sensitivity test, STDs like gonorrhea/ chlamedia can cause such bleeding. May be recurrence of infection in your case.
- Cervical polyp,
-malignancy.
* The bleeding after intercourse needs investigation/ examination by a gynecologist. & specific management.
