What Causes Irregular Menstruation Post Intake Of I-pill?

Hi, I and my fiancee had unprotected sex on 19th Jan and then she took ipill on 20th Jan within 24 hours. Her period cycle is 10th of every month. So after taking ipill on 20th Jan, there was no bleeding. She missed her next period which was due on 10th feb. We went for a HCG pregnancy test on 11th Feb (After 23 days of unprotected sex) and got the reports next day and the result was negative and then she also had periods on 15th Feb. She had periods till 24th Feb which lasted little longer than normal. As understood the cycle has changed to 15th now. But in the next month i.e. 15th March she did not got her periods. Its 18th March now and still she has not got her periods. Is the delay due to the side effect of the ipill. Do we still require to do pregnancy test once again. Kindly suggest.

I understand your concern.
When emergency contraceptive pills are taken, the cycle pattern could change as these pills prevent pregnancy by causing withdrawal bleeding within 3 weeks form the day of intake of the pill.
Next cycle onwards, in most cases, it would regularize. However, in some instances, they could be delayed by few days due to minor hormonal imbalances.
Kindly wait for the periods to happen patiently. In case it gets delayed beyond 10 days, she should consult Gynecologist for proper evaluation and management.
