What Causes Irregular Menstruation While On Nordette?

Hi, I was on the injection for 6 months and then swopped over to Nordette. (Before the injection I was on Yasmine which worked great but got to expensive) The first month I did not get break through bleeding. Second month was normal but now again on the 3rd month no bleeding. I am not pregnant as I have had no intercourse during the past month or so. Thank you N

Hello dear
Understand your concern.
Menstruation required co ordinate action of various hormone that secreted by ovary (estrogen and progesterone) and brain (FSH and LH).
If any above hormone is decreased or increased there is imbalance in menstruation.
Nordette contain ethinyl estradiol and levonorgestrel.
It lead to hormonal imbalance and that is the reason for irregular menstruation as a side effects.

Other side effects are below:
Acne, oily skin
Breast tenderness
Depression
Tiredness, fatigue
Hair loss
Hypertension
Increased appetite
Weight gain
Cholestatic jaundice
Early/midcycle breakthrough bleeding
Increased spotting
Amenorrhea
Hypomenorrhea
