Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m a 18 year old on the nexplanon for birth control , I had sex 3 times on two different days (03/11/17&03/12/17) after my last period (03/10/17) . We did use condoms but my bf did cum inside of me . On the 14th of this week I spotted brownish just on my underwear, a few drops and then on the 15&16 I spotted a bit more reddish on a pad . Not heavy at all just a few drops , my periods are irregular but I ve never experienced spotting like this before . My cervix mucus is a bit watery, my appetite has changed out of nowhere , and I feel nauseated easily. I m tired more than usual. Could I be pregnant? Thanks in advance
When you start with contraceptives like Nexplanon or oral contraceptive pills, it is advisable to use other forms of contraceptives like condoms and spermicidal agents during the first 2 weeks, as the chances of becoming pregnant remain high.
It will be difficult to conclude that you could be pregnant only based on the description of the symptoms. Kindly take urine pregnancy test and an ultrasound scan of the abdomen. Consult Obstetrician for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Ashakiran S,
