I am trying to conceive, i am taking folic acid for about 45 days. but getting confused and stressed because of my scanty/spotty period. Before my period is so normal, then it stopped for about 1 and a half month. i thought i was pregnant. my ob gave me duphaston, and my period came for 12 days, after that period next period came in 21 days, but scanty. then after 30 days my period came and it looks like spotting and scanty for 3 days. is that normal?

Duphaston is a synthetic (artificial) progestogen and is similar to the progesterone produced naturally by the ovaries.
Duphaston can also be used in the treatment of:

Abnormal uterine bleeding
Pre-Menstrual Syndrome
Infertility
Threatened miscarriage
Painful periods
Absence of periods
Duphaston comes in tablet form in a strength of 10mgs and is taken one, two or three times daily from day five to day twenty-five of the cycle. In some circumstances, especially in the treatment of endometriosis, the treatment is taken continuously, and may be given at higher doses. Treatment is usually for six to twelve months.
Side effects of Duphaston

Nausea
Breast tenderness
Headache
Bloating
Dizziness
Skin rashes
Breakthrough bleeding between periods may also occur. This can usually be corrected by increasing the dose.
As with all treatments, you may have no side effects at all, or you may experience a few but it is rare to experience multiple side effects.
