What Causes Irregular Periods After Taking Misoprostol?

Hello dr. I have had misoprostol 3 month ago. My abortion was successfull but after that when my mensus came then they continued for only 2 days then stopped and it happened two times in a row and now third time today is my 45 day of cycle but no menses ...whats the problem please help?

Hello,
I have gone through your query and understood the concern. Firstly, if you did have a trans-vaginal sonogram done two weeks after the abortion process and no evidence of pregnancy detected, you can deem the abortion to be successful. Secondly, there can be transient hormone imbalance subsequent to an abortion or delivery. Weight disturbances, stress, infections and medications also can cause this. You should repeat the sonogram, get hormone assay and urinalysis along with routine blood counts to detect the cause and plan further management. Hope this helps.
