What Causes Irregular Periods After Taking Plan B?

Hi Doc!I m wondering is it normal to receive my period two weeks earlier after taking plan b twice in a week?Oh July 15-19 I got my regular period, than on the 21st and 25th I took plan B because my boyfriend fingered me and I wasn t sure if there was precum on his finger. 5 days after that, the 29th, I got my period again and it lasted for 5 days like a normal period.Is this normal at all? And does it mean I m not pregnant as long as I haven t had sex since I got the second period? Thanks :)

Yes, this is all normal. nothing to worry as you have got periods after having fingered and taking plan B. Also Plan B is very effective drug in controlling such events and preventing unwanted pregnancies.


Now why this happened?
Yes, it happens due to the hormonal imbalance, emotional changes and a lot more factors that happen to affect the periods. This is all due to the over-apprehensions due to the event and due to taking the hormaonal pills named Plan B and that too twice in close proximity.


It all causes a derangement in hormonal balance that regulates the monthly menstrual periods. In next couple of menstrual periods you will totally regular and normal in all aspects once the body's own hormonal system kicks back in after getting relieved from the influence of the exogenous hormones (Plan B).
