What Causes Irregular Periods Along With Vaginal Spotting?

HI, I m 46 and have started getting irregular periods with spotting and/or period every two weeks in past couple months. I have diarrhea as well and stomach....pelvic cramping almost daily. My medical hx is high blood pressure...metabolic syndrome as I am overweight. My gyn said during my last exam I had small ovarian cysts present, nothing to worry about. I am concerned. I have been under tremondous stress at work lately too. What is going on?

Ovarian cysts would not cause these issues. I suggest you to go for a transvaginal ultrasonography to rule out any endometrial dysfunction.
