Hello,

There can be various causes for an irregularity in your menstrual cycle, and I shall start by listing some of the most common causes for this:

-Stress
-Infections anywhere in the body (a raised white cell count suggest an infection, and in your case, this could be the cause for the irregularity in periods)
-Medications
-Conditions like polycystic ovaries
-Chronic conditions (e.g. diabetes, hypertension, etc).
-Birth control pills

and various other causes

As your white cell count is high, it is important to first find the cause for the raised white cell count (i.e. find the infection). Once the infection is found, we can initiate antibiotics which can help treat the infection.

Once the infection has been treated, we shall observe your menstrual cycle to see if it is regular or not.

If it is regular, the cause for your irregular periods was the infection. But if it is still irregular, then we will have to further investigate.

But for now the aim should be to diagnose the infection, so we can accordingly initiate antibiotic coverage. I would thus urge you to discuss all this with your doctor, as a diagnosis can be made only after a physical examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
