What Causes Irregular Periods With Normal Menstrual Cycle?

hi, i m 21 and i have irregular menstraul cycle from beginning. sometimes it becomes regular and i bleed regularly in 3 or 4 months but then again cycle becomes irregular and i dont bleed for 4or 5 months. periods are not heavy or light, they are normal. and last for maximum 7 days with no irregular pains. i took primolut n but it only helped a month n after that again menstrual cycle becomes irregular. is this alarming for me? is there anything worth worrying for me?

The irregular periods with normal menstrual cycle is a matter of concern as if untreated it may end up with multiple problems of fertility as well. The most common cause is anovulatory cycles with underlying ovarian cyst or polycystic ovary syndrome.

The Primolut-N is best drug to regularize the menses over a period of time, but I would recommend to get an ultrasound of the abdomen and pelvis for further diagnostic approach and curative guidelines.
