What Causes Irregular Periods With Sharp Abdominal Pain?
For the whole month of May I didn t start my period. Although I had sharp pains in my uterus. On the second day of June I had an even worse sharp pain that almost brought me to my knees. Shortly after that I had an orange snotty discharge that had a smell of decay. I then started to have a heavy bleed. On the second day of bleeding it stopped for a while. Then on that same day I started to have a heavy bleed again that lasted 4 days. I don t know if I was imagining it but a few days before the pain I had a feeling that I was a little bigger than I usually was. I m wondering what this could mean?
The heavy menses with smell indicate hormone changes along with vaginal infection. My guidelines at present: - Vaginal hygiene care - Regular change of tampons and avoid prolong use of same tampon - Hydration with plenty of liquids - Cranberry sachets for prevention of secondary bacterial urinary infection - Avoid vaginal sex (if active) - Get urine microscopy and vaginal swab report to diagnose the type and extent of infection for further antibiotic support from your OBGYN
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
