What Causes Irregular Periods With Stabbing Pain In Pelvis?
Hi, i m 21 years old and last year i was admitted in hospital for PID. Recently i ve been having pains in my pelvic area and i m concerned. I never had a regular period and upon ultrasound last year they discovered a cyst that was bleeding into itself . Also at times i may have stabbing pains in my left or right lower abdominal area. What is it really?
The pain you are suffering from might be due to presence of ovarian cyst. It is also a cause of your irregular menstrual cycles. I would advise you to go for a blood test to determine levels of FSH, LH and TSH (hormones responsible for regular menstrual cycles). Based on the test results, you can be started on hormone replacement therapy for the treatment of cyst and irregular periods. The pain you feel in the pelvic area will be cured, too.
