What Causes Irregular Periods?

Hi, My boyfriend and I had sex every day for over a week and every time we started out without a condom and only put one on towards the end. The last time was over 10 days ago because he is currently away on business. I have irregular periods and was suppose to start my period on the 23rd and we started the unprotected sex around the 21st until the 31st. My period has yet to show up and for the last several days I have been really queasy and feel like I can hardly eat, also my right breast is extremely tender. I have looked online and read that it is highly unlikely to get pregnant from precum but the way I have been feeling the last couple days makes me wonder if that is true. Could I really be pregnant? And if So when is it safe to say that I could take a pregnancy test and get an accurate result? Like I said that last time we had sex was the 31st, if I tested now, would it be too soon?

Hello ma'am and welcome.

If your partner always wears a condom when he is approaching climax, I highly doubt he can cause conception. Only the precum that is released close to climax can at times cause conception.

In your case, I feel it is highly unlikely. If at all you still wish to rule out pregnancy, you can do so by taking a home pregnancy test at least 2 weeks from the suspected date of conception or on or after the second day of a missed period using an early morning sample of urine.

If pregnancy is ruled out, a hormonal cause should be suspected. Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
