What Causes Irregular Periods?

I am a 24 year old female. I have hypothyroidism and PCOS. I used to have irrelugar periods until about a year ago when they became more or less regular. I had sex with someone about 9 weeks ago. It was with a condom and both ejaculations despite the condom were after being pulled out. I am overly paranoid about getting pregnant. I got my period 2 weeks after having sex about a week late. However, I havent gotten the next one which was due over 2 weeks ago. I have been very stressed lately. I have had terrible cramps for the last 2-3 days and I am not sure if there is a chance that I may be pregnant? I havent taken a test yet but am not sure if I should. It is an embarrassing purchase to make. Is there a possibilty that my later period is because of other factors and not that I am pregnant?

I really appreciate your concern. Fear of pregnancy is a common reason for delayed periods. You are also suffering from hypothyroidism and PCOS. They are also responsible for irregular periods. If you have intercourse with condom then there is less chances of pregnancy. I advise you to rule out pregnancy by Urine Pregnancy Testing kit available in the market then get relaxed. You have to combat fear of pregnancy by one or another mean. That's the solution of your problem.
