What Causes Irregular Periods?

I am 45 years old. I had a DNC early this year. I missed my period last month. In October I got my period twice. I have had a clear discharge. I had two pregnancy test and they were both negative. Should I be concerned?? I had blood work done and I am not menopausing. My hormones level were a little low. Can I be pregnant and its too early be detected. I am very concerned and worried??

Hello dear,

Thank you for your contact to health care magic.

I read and understand your concern.

I am Dr Arun Tank answering your concern.

Low hormone level , irregular and scanty period at the age of 45 all is directing us towards the menopause.

If it is pregnancy than hormone level should not be low, it should be normal or higher.

I advice you to again test yourself for the menopause. Because at your age menopause is the most common reason for this symptoms.

You can take the estrogen hormone replacement therapy for your problem. But please take this drugs only under your doctors guidance.

I will be happy to answer your further concern on bit.ly/DrArun.

Thank you,
Dr Arun Tank
