Hello, greetings! Irregular periods can be caused due to a number of reasons. One of the leading causes is polycystic ovarian syndrome. This is a situation in which there are numerous cysts on ovary, thus interfering with normal periods. It can be diagnosed with an abdomen scan. Another cause of irregular periods are thyroid problems, for which you can get a blood test done. Stress and environmental factors also play a role in irregular periods.
