What Causes Irregular Periods?

I have an irregular period,usually it s 31 days and sometimes it s 28 days.This last period was 28 days and my boyfriend ejaculated into me the day before my period started and the 2 days after my period ended.We are trying to have a baby but I really don t know when I ovulate. Please help me.

Consult a gynecologist and get evaluated. Conditions like PCOS( polycystic ovarian disease) has to be ruled out.
