What Causes Irregular Periods?

Hello, I got my first period when I was 14, now I m 18 years and 6 months old. My periods are still irregular.. for example this time it came 2 weeks late.. (I never worry about pregnancy as I m virgin). My period being irregular is one problem.. another one is that last couple years almost all my periods were very very painful (usually on first day).. it s so painful I cry, I can t walk, I m extremely nauseous and I vomit (sometimes multiple times).. this vomiting doesn t let me take pain meds, as everything comes out and I have to go through this pain until I don t throw up anymore and drug stays in my stomach.. and I also usually have diarrhea too.. I don t know what to do.. please tell me what you think about this situation... Thank you in advance 3

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advise.

Painful menstruation and irregular bleeding is common problem during teenage.
for that Meftal spas is preferred drug.

As far as the question of vomiting is concerned, take capsule omez D 1 hour before taking meftal spas.
keep hydrated yourself with ORS (WHO approved) during diarrhoea to prevent electrolyte imbalance.

If menstrual cycle is late by 10-14 days for more than 5-6 cycles then I advice you to consult gynecologist.
