Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi! I am 22 years old, and have always had very regular periods; when I got married I went on the pill, Tri-cylene Lo, for three and a half years. I went off this October and had two irregular periods, the last one being in January. Since then I have not had a period and am not pregnant. I feel completely fine, but wonder if this is normal?
General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, Thanksfor ĺthe query. I understand your concern. The Tricyclen lo is a combined oral contraceptive...fertility mostly regained within 1-8 months of stopping .It is needful to wait for periods to resume their original pattern. You have 2 irregular cycles in last 8 months... not been normal yet.. provided it was not irregular before starting the pills. In this scenario instead for waiting for normal periods for more time.... I would advise you to get investigated to exclude any other factor responsible for the delayed &irregular periods ... also start with needful treatment as per an expert gynecologist's advise. Thanks
