What Causes Irregular Periods?

I have very irregular periods(none for 3 months). Have slightly enlarged ovaries but normal bloods. Have taken duphaston previously but still no periods regularly. Will duphaston make my periods more regular if i take it more often or what could the problem be with not getting periods?
