Hi,

Irregular periods can be seen due to reproductive hormonal fluctuation which can occur due to many causes like stress and strain, changes in diet, sleep, exercise pattern, Thyroid hormonal imbalance, etc. As your pregnancy test is negative, the possibility of pregnancy is less. Now, the points to be considered are:
-You can use Progesterone tablets to get the withdrawal bleeding. But the process may take around 15 to 20 days, i.e. intake of tablets for 5 days and time for onset of bleeding 7 to 10 days and bleeding for around 5 days. If you are staying for more than one month in UK, you can go for it.
-If you are returning to India soon, better to wait till you come to India and meanwhile you may get spontaneous periods also. During this period, you may choose barrier contraceptives to prevent pregnancy.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sree Gouri S. R., OBGYN
