Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I suffer from pcos, irregular periods and don t ovulate regularly. I am 31. I am on metformin. I am trying to conceive. I haven t had a period for over 2 months and 5 negative pregnancy tests. It s been over a week that I have been spotting brown blood on and off. And when I wipe, I see red blood on the tissue. It stops and then starts again but only when I wipe. I am confused and getting really stressed. Please advise what is wrong, why this is happening and what should I do?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
PCOD has created irregularity in normal hormonal pattern. It seems the ovulation is not yet established and conception is not possible in such case. Metformin along with proper diet and exercises help in many PCOD cases. Please continue sincerely. After few months your doctor may switch on ovulation stimulates after your weight is under control.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
