What Causes Irregular Stool Incontinence, Abdominal Cramps And Fever?

Last few days been having abnormal bowel movement consistency of pumpkin pie filling ..( usually very regular 2 or 3 times a day well formed )..off and on abdominal cramping ...last night at bedtime a fever came out of nowhere ..approx 101 degrees f...today..just on and off minor cramping...soft stools still and only about a quarter cup or less at a time ...had green light laser of prostate last Feb 2015...longer then expected recovery (8 weeks). Now back to like I never had green light surgery ..could enlarged prostate be blocking my bowels ? Or any thing else come to mind ..? Thank you .

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of irregular stool incontinence, abdominal cramps and fever. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like gastroenteritis , food allergies, lactose intolerance, irritable bowel syndrome, appendicitis and giardiasis. Need not to worry. You should take small and frequent meals and avoid taking large meals at at time. I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination. Doctor may order ultrasound , endoscopy or stool test. Doctor may prescribe omeprazole , laxative , ornidazole or albendazole . For now eat light and non spicy , take antacid after every meal, drink plenty of water and take light walk after every meal.
