What Causes Irregular Thumps In Heart?

I get an irregular thump (not occurring in regular intervals) in or around the area of my heart after I eat sometimes, after drinking milk and sometimes water,if I am really nervous, when I'm stressed, and when I lay down. When laying down it's mostly when I lay on my back or left side. When I lay on my right the thump stops or is less noticeable. This starting happening about 2 months ago. Do I have a heart problem?

Hi welcome to HCM,
These symptoms can point to heart rhythm disturbances .This is most likely to be sinus arrythmia which is secondary to anxiety and nervousness states.I advice you to have a base line EKG.24hr holter ecg can exactly quantify the abnormal rhythm patterns.Drugs like anxiolytis ex alprazolam for a short period of 3 -6 months can reduce the cardiovascular disturbances.Stress management with regular isotonic exercises for 20min/day can prevent such attacks in future.Consult your cardiologist for further queries.
Thank you
