What Causes Irregular Vaginal Bleeding With Lower Back Pain?

Hello, so my period has been coming irregularly for the past 2 months. Last month it came on July 2nd and now it is August 31st. On Tuesday I was masturbating (no vibrators) when I noticed blood stain on my finger which I thought happend because I had got my period. But shortly after that the blood stopped. My discharge came out red today and sort of stained my pants. I don t know if that s because of period but I am feeling period pain in my lower back.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

A variety of things can cause abnormal uterine bleeding. Pregnancy is a common cause. Polyps or fibroid (small and large growths) in the uterus can also cause bleeding. Rarely, a thyroid problem, infection of the cervix, or cancer of the uterus can cause abnormal uterine bleeding.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
