What Causes Irregular Vaginal Spotting After Taking Familon?

Hi, I was taking femilon 21-days strip medicine from 5th day of my periods for 3 months. It was given by the gynecologist to prevent preganancy. I took for one month before marriage and 2 months after my marriage. I just stopped taking a Familon tablet from April 5th, 2016. After 2-3 days I immidetely got my periods(Around April 9th). My main doubt is that after my this periods completes (April 15th- lasts for 7 days), Again it s started bleeding from April 20th (inicially after 5 days of my periods end). It s not kind of heavy bleeding but less spots of blood. So is it the normal thing happened after stopping the tablet? Why my periods/bledding comes again in the same month? Is there any side effect happened to my body? Please advise me. Thanks

I have read your description and understand your concern.
Femilon tablet contains the salts Desogestrel and Ethinyl Estradiol as active ingredients. It is a combined oral contraceptive pill.
Since these are hormonal preparations and alters the body hormone levels, it might take some time for few people to restore them to normal levels. Hence, in such cases, intermittent bleeding or spotting between the periods can take place.
However, such issues must be resolved in a couple of months and your periods should be back to normal. In case such symptoms prolong or becomes bothersome, you need to be evaluated for the cause, so that it could be appropriately addressed to. Kindly consult Gynecologist in such an instance for evaluation and management.
