What Causes Irregular Vaginal Spotting During Periods?

I had my first day of period 2 days ago October18 and it was just like spotting. Yesterday my second day had a very light period. Today, supposedly my 3rd day, when i woke up i was surprised to see my overnight sanitary pad was clean. Infact i was expecting my period to come tomorrow when it came early. What does this mean? I just turned 40yrs old TTC for 4 years now. Pls help. Thank you.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, such scanty period with irregular patron could be due to hormone changes and looking to your age this could be due to menopause which is nothing to worry, it may happens for few months some time it may be heavy menses you could see, but this would also a part of menopause, hope this information helps.
