What Causes Irregular Vaginal Spotting?

Hi I am 31. I started my period 2 days ago but it has been very scanty. I noticed some blood clots too. But I took postinor 2 beginning of this month and was also on doxycycline. My period has always been regular with normal flow. What can be the problem and I m also not pregnant.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for your question. I do understand your pain and discomfort. As per your history is concerned there are many reasons for which your periods will be irregular so:-

1) Do pelvic ultrasound exam to clear any doubts about Gyn disorders like fibroids, cysts etc
2) Do a physical exam to exclude pathology from vagina to cervix
3) Do a full blood count to ruled out any infections
4) Check your TSH level
5) Take [ ASORON INJECTION] with 100 ml saline twice weekly up to HB% corrected
6) Take multivitamin tab [A_Z] once a day at night
7) Do yoga everyday to remove stress

I hope I was able to address your query. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to write to me. Wishing you all the best.

Thanks,
Dr. Uday Nath Sahoo
