What Causes Irregularities In Menstruation?

Hi I am a young 16 yr old girl and i had sex in january after i had sex i started my period 2 days later but it was lighter and shorter then normal since then i havent had a period so i am working on the 3rd month with no period.. i took a pregnancy test and it was negative so i dont think i am pregnant what else could it be?
