What Causes Irritated Throat, Choking And Bouts Of Cough?
I once had a noggles removed from my voice box. I am having problem clearing my throat all the time and it is getting worse. I also had one on my liver. could it be possible that another is back on my voice box again? If I attempt to sing in my car I get choke and start coughing bad.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of irritated throat, choking and bouts of cough which are pointing towards a condition known as granular pharyngitis/ upper respiratory tract infection. Need not to worry. Avoid hot, sharp , spicy food substances , do warm saline rinses and carbonated beverages. I would suggest you to start with warm saline gargles and betadine gargles 3-4 times a day. For pain and swelling you should take ibuprofen or acetaminophen. Consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis and rule out condition like strep throat and viral infection . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics (penicillin or amoxicillin ) or anti viral drug depending upon the diagnosis along with decongestants and anti inflammatory.
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
