What Causes Irritating Brown Vaginal Discharge?

I have a brown flake discharge with vaginal irritation. I had protected sex two nights ago and the itching has stopped, but I still see the brown flakes when I wipe. When I look down there, I see a white discharge. Yesterday, there was a creamy discharge. What is wrong with me?

Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the possible issue of irritating brown to yellow whie discharge do suggest cervical infection most likely sexually transmitted one. The most common are being Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria Gonorrhea or fungal lesion. Following are helpful measures to look into the matter:
- Plenty of liquids
- Vaginal hygiene care
- Avoid sex till complete recovery
- Vaginal pessaries with fluconazole and others
- Systemic antibiotic as metronidazole, tinidazole, cephalosporin, azithromycin, ceftriaxone or others
- Anti histamine as diphenhydramine or cetirizine for itching relief
- Flora support with lacto bacillus

In selected cases, microbiology report of the specimen sent would guide further medication decision to heal it faster.
