What Causes Irritation And Itching On Foreskin?

Earlier this week I noticed my foreskin was irritated and itchy and there was a build up of smegma so started cleaning it to see if it was a hygiene problem but after cleaning it one day I woke up to find my foreskin was swollen, dry, tight and also irritated, this was after I scratched it rather intensly will this go away or do I require medication as I am very embarrassed about it and don t want to go to my GP.

I really appreciate your concern, if this is phimosis then such swelling is very likely it is advisable to see the surgeon till then you can try "Tab Ibuprofen 400 mg" three times in day and Tab Amoxicillin 500 mg three times in day care need to be taken for swelling keep the area clean and apply Povidone Iodine cream, hope this information helps, take care and have nice day.
